Shizuoka Contact “S” Japanese Single Malt Whisky

About the Whisky Founded in 2016, Shizuoka Distillery utilises two different stills to produce her distillate, ie “ex-Karuizawa” and Wood-Fired stills. The ex-Karuizawa still is the only still remaining from the famed Karuizawa distillery and the Wood-Fired still is the only still in the world that uses wood to heat the still. The wood is sustainably sourced from the surrounding forest. The two stills produce unique characteristic notes and Contact “S” is a marriage of the two stills. The malts used are mainly Japanese malt, Scottish peat and non-peated malt and beer malt. The distillate is mainly aged in mainly first filled bourbon barrels for more than 3 year. Distilled, Matured and Bottled in Japan. Limited release of 7,000 bottles. Limited to 1 set per person.
