Japanese whiskies have gained more popularity in recent years, owing to the fact that the distillers produce these expressions with great skill, talent and craftsmanship. But none is arguably more coveted by collectors than Karuizawa, a Japanese single malt which was produced by the now-shuttered Karuizawa distillery.
Karuizawa whiskies are famous for their floral scents with dark and rich flavours. Since the distillery shut down in 2011, the brand has increased in demand and price by at least three times the original amount. It's also worth noting that each year, the cost increases while the accessibility decreases due to the limited number of bottles available in the world.

Karuizawa 1995 Single cask #5038 - The Crowning Cask
This is an exclusive 2018 release that was selected and bottled for the Masters of Wine & Spirit duty free stores. It was first distilled in 1995 and bottled at cask strength from 225 litres French oak (Japanese Red Wine). The wine casks gives the whisky a rich complexity in flavour with an alluring deep amber characteristic. The distillery only produced 124 bottles of #5038.
Karuizawa 31 Year Old Sapphire Geisha Series
This rare and sought-after spirit consists of two single casks bottling— the 31 and 36— and The Bar at the Tatler House as acquired the former. Aged in a sherry cask for 31 years, the single malt is renowned for its rich an lavish characteristics that burst with sugar, rich forest earthiness, bittersweet chocolate and mint. This collection depicts the life of a Geisha, as seen on the bottle packaging to showcase strength, skill and under-rated beauty. The distillery only produced 146 bottles of #3558.
